But that also begs the question of if it would have been better for Platinum to consciously work within the Switch's limitations rather than trying to condense something much greater in scope into such limited hardware. Since maintaining high frame rates is very important for this type of game, concessions absolutely had to be made to the visuals to get this game running as it does with the Demon Slave mechanic. I think on some level Bayonetta 3's scope may have been a little too ambitious for the Switch's hardware. And to add to this the player can load 3 of them at a single time. Bayonetta 3 is trying its best to maintain 50-60 FPS at all times during combat, in addition it has to deal with the fact that the player can summon giant demons with their own movesets at any instant. If you go back and play the other games, I think you'll notice how "focused" they are with not as many things going on screen at a time. In addition, the scope of Bayonetta 3's combat is a lot bigger than previous entries. Platinum runs into a lot of hurdles with the Switch when it comes to hardware. Since I recently bought a gaming PC, I can't help but wonder how much more I would enjoy this game if it were in 4K resolution running at 120 frames. I like that it's accessible unlike fighting games that require a fight stick. 
The fighting gameplay is fun and I like that I don't have to use the control stick for combos, it's difficult to be good at this game and I can see myself replaying it multiple times. The art style, character designs, music, and combat are done with a great attention to detail. I can tell that the game was made with a lot of love and it does exude a lot of charm and delight. It felt like a game from the Xbox 360 generation or something that could have been running on Wii/Wii U era. I've played less than 3 hours of the game and was distracted half the time by the graphics. (I play either turn-based tactics games or games in the survival horror genre.) This is my first Bayonetta game, I normally don't play action/fighting games.
